| The Tabanan regency is the most agriculturally productive area in Bali, home to beautiful ricefield scapes under the patronage of the 2276m Mt Batukaru, second highest peak of the island.
The coast line of this part of Bali is remarkable by the black colour sand of its beaches, reminder of the volcanic quality of the island.
This is where one is to find the most photographed touristic site, the famous sea temple of Tanah Lot.
It is also home to the Nirwana Bali Golf Course designed by Greg Norman, and voted number 1 golf course in Indonesia, which had created so much controversy upon its development within the sacred land surrounding the Holy site of Tanah Lot.
